This 108 hour course is an introduction to the foundational theory and practice of Sowa Rigpa, Traditional Tibetan Medicine.
Following the text The Tibetan Book of Health by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, students will be guided through a study of:
Tibetan Medical Philosophy: The Five Elements, Three Humors, Balance of Body, Energy, Mind and Causes of Imbalance.
The Tibetan Art of Diagnosis: Observation, Urine and Pulse analysis, Questioning of Patient.
Five Methods of Treatment: Diet, Lifestyle, Herbal Remedies, External Therapies, Spiritual Healing
Course consists of 36 live interactive webinars taught by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang with select modules offered by special guest senior instructors.

Homework assignments and monthly pass/ fail quizzes will be administered to assess attendance and progress. Review sessions will be made available throughout the course by the support team of the Sorig Institute.
Certificate of completion will be granted by the Sorig Institute upon attendance of all modules (live or recorded) and completion of all quizzes and homework assignments.
Commitment to the complete 108 hour training is required to join this course. Individual modules are not open for drop ins or auditors.

Meet Your Teacher, Dr. Nida Chenagtsang
Born in Amdo, in North Eastern Tibet, Dr. Nida began his early medical studies at the local Tibetan Medicine hospital. Later he was awarded scholarship to enter the Lhasa Tibetan Medical University, where he completed his medical education in 1996, with practical training at the Tibetan Medicine hospitals in Lhasa and Lhoka. Dr. Nida has published many articles and books on Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig (unique spiritual healing tradition of Tibetan Medicine) and his extensive research and revival of ancient Tibetan healing methods has earned him great acclaim in both the East and the West for his revival of traditional Tibetan external healing therapies.
Dr. Nida is the Co-Founder and Medical Director of Sorig Khang International; Co-Founder of the International Ngakmang Institute, established to preserve and maintain the Rebkong ngakpa non-monastic yogi/ini culture within modern Tibetan society; and Co-Founder and Medical and Spiritual Director of the Sorig Institute and Pure Land Farms: Center for Tibetan Medicine, Meditation and Rejuvenation in Los Angeles, California. In addition to his work as a physician, he trains students in Sowa Rigpa and the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition in over forty countries around the world.
